Alfred McCoy Tyner (born December 11, 1938) is a jazz pianist from Philadelphia known for his work with the John Coltrane Quartet and a long solo career.
"Echoes of a Friend" is a 1972 album by jazz pianist McCoy Tyner released on JVC(Japan Victor Company)label, and on Milestone label later. It was recorded in Tokyo, Japan on November 11, 1972 and features Tyner in a solo piano tribute to John Coltrane.

The Art Ensemble of Chicago(AEC) is an avant-garde jazz group that grew out of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) in the late 1960s. The ensemble integrates many jazz styles and plays many instruments, including "little instruments": bells, bicycle horns, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and various forms of percussion. The musicians wear costumes and face paint while performing.
"The Third Decade" is a 1984 album by the AEC released on the ECM label.

"Bap-Tizum" is a 1972 live album by the AEC recorded at the Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival held at the Otis Spann Memorial Field and first released on the Atlantic label in 1973.

Mayumi Itsuwa (born January 24, 1951) is a Japanese vocalist, composer, lyricist, and keyboardist who made her debut in 1972. Her first studio album entitled "Shoujo" was recorded in Los Angeles, produced by Grammy Award winner John Fischbach, with distinguished musicians such as David Campbell, Carole King and Charles Larkey who was King's husband at that time. Owing to her introspective compositions, Itsuwa was often nicknamed "Japanese Carole King".

辻説法 - 野坂昭如

野坂 昭如(1930年(昭和5年)10月10日 - 2015年(平成27年)12月9日)は、日本の作家、歌手、作詞家、タレント、政治家。 1967年に『火垂るの墓』『アメリカひじき』で直木賞受賞。また、社会評論も多数執筆するようになり、「焼跡闇市派」を名乗り、その体験から既存の右翼・左翼それぞれを批判していく評論活動を行う。1969年にレコードデビューし「マリリン・モンロー・ノーリターン」「黒の舟唄」「バージン・ブルース」などで話題を呼ぶ。そして、1974年7月 第10回参院選に東京地方区から無所属で出馬するも落選。本作はその選挙における投票日前日の最後の演説である。

Elvin Jones (September 9, 1927 - May 18, 2004) was an American jazz drummer of the post-bop era. From 1960 to 1966, he was a member of the John Coltrane quartet (along with Jimmy Garrison on bass and McCoy Tyner on piano).He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1995. "Puttin' It Together" is an album by Elvin Jones, his first effort for Blue Note as a leader. It was recorded in 1968 and released on the Blue Note label.

Misha Mengelberg (5 June 1935 - 3 March 2017) was a Dutch jazz pianist and composer. Mengelberg is known for his forays into free improvisation, for bringing humor into his music, and as a leading interpreter of songs by fellow pianists Thelonious Monk and Herbie Nichols. In 1967 he co-founded the Instant Composers Pool, an organisation which promoted avant garde Dutch jazz performances and recordings. "Japan Japon" is recorded on 11 May 1982 in Osaka and 17 May 1982 in Tokyo, ICP Orchestra Japan Tour in 1982.

The Crusaders were an American jazz fusion group that was popular in the 1970s. The group was known as the Jazz Crusaders before shortening its name in 1971. In 1975, Henderson left the group to pursue a full-time career as a record producer. Another founding member, Hooper, left the group in 1983, thus signaling the end to the group's most popular period.
