SOMETHING MORE - BUSTER WILLIAMS

Charles Anthony "Buster" Williams (born April 17, 1942) is an American jazz bassist. Williams is known for his membership in pianist Herbie Hancock's early 1970s group, working with guitarist Larry Coryell from the 1980s to present, working in the Thelonious Monk repertory band Sphere and as the accompanist of choice for many singers, including Nancy Wilson.
"Something More" was released in 1989. Really an all-star cast consisting of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, 大野俊三(Shunzo Ohno), and Al Foster.

CHAMBERS' MUSIC - PAUL CHAMBERS

Paul Laurence Dunbar Chambers Jr. (April 22, 1935 - January 4, 1969) was a jazz double bassist.
Chambers recorded about a dozen albums as a leader or co-leader, and as a sideman, notably as the anchor of trumpeter Miles Davis's "first great quintet" (1955-63) and with pianist Wynton Kelly (1963-68).
"Chambers' Music" is the debut album by jazz bassist Paul Chambers. It was originally released in September 1956 on the Jazz West label. It is the first record to include a composition by John Coltrane.

Lionel Leo Hampton (April 20, 1908 - August 31, 2002) was an American jazz vibraphonist, pianist, percussionist, and bandleader. Hampton worked with jazz musicians from Teddy Wilson, Benny Goodman, and Buddy Rich to Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, and Quincy Jones. In 1992, he was inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, and was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 1996.

鈴木 勲(1933年1月2日 - )は、日本のジャズベース、コントラバス奏者及び作曲家。ニックネームはオマスズ、オマさん。東京都出身。立教大学在学中、来日したルイ・アームストロング・オールスターズの公演を聴きベース奏者のミルト・ヒントンに衝撃を受ける。1956年には米軍ベースキャンプで演奏を始める。その後松本英彦クァルテット、渡辺貞夫グループに入り活動。また自己のグループ結成後ファイブスポット等でライブ活動を行う。1970年、来日したアート・ブレイキーにスカウトされ渡米、ジャズ・メッセンジャーズの一員となり全米、欧州をツアー。帰国後TBMレーベルで、本作「ブロー・アップ」(1973年録音、日本ジャズ賞受賞)等の名作を発表。 その後もジャンルを問わず多くの内外ミュージシャンと共演し、後年は日本の若手ミュージシャンの教育にも力を注いでいる。

Ravi Shankar (7 April 1920 - 11 December 2012) was an Indian musician and a composer of Hindustani classical music. He was the best-known proponent of the sitar in the second half of the 20th century and influenced many other musicians throughout the world. Shankar was awarded India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 1999.
Ali Akbar Khan (14 April 1922 - 18 June 2009) was an Indian Hindustani classical musician of the Maihar gharana, known for his virtuosity in playing the sarod.
Ustad Allarakha Qureshi (29 April 1919 - 3 February 2000), popularly known as Alla Rakha, was an Indian tabla player, who specialized in Hindustani Classical music. He was a frequent accompanist of sitar player Ravi Shankar.

MAHAVISHNU - JOHN McLAUGHLIN

John McLaughlin (born 4 January 1942) is an English guitarist, bandleader, and composer. A pioneer of jazz fusion, his music combines elements of jazz with rock, world music, Indian classical music, Western classical music, flamenco, and blues. After contributing to several key British groups of the early 1960s, McLaughlin made Extrapolation, his first album as a bandleader, in 1969. He then moved to the U.S., where he played with Tony Williams's group Lifetime and then with Miles Davis on his electric jazz-fusion albums In a Silent Way, Bitches Brew, Jack Johnson, and On the Corner. His 1970s electric band, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, performed a technically virtuosic and complex style of music that fused electric jazz and rock with Indian influences.
Mahavishnu is an album by the Mahavishnu Orchestra, released in 1984 by Warner Bros. Records. During the 1980s, John McLaughlin reformed the Mahavishnu Orchestra for release of the two albums Mahavishnu and Adventures in Radioland.
