Bessie Smith (April 15, 1894 - September 26, 1937) was an American blues singer widely renowned during the Jazz Age. Nicknamed the "Empress of the Blues", she was the most popular female blues singer of the 1920s and 1930s. She is often regarded as one of the greatest singers of her era and was a major influence on fellow blues singers, as well as jazz vocalists.

Eleanora Fagan (April 7, 1915 - July 17, 1959), professionally known as Billie Holiday, was an American jazz and swing music singer with a career spanning 26 years. Nicknamed "Lady Day" by her friend and music partner Lester Young, Holiday had an innovative influence on jazz music and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo. She was known for her vocal delivery and improvisational skills.

ジャズ・シンガー 安田南(北海道出身 1943年11月14日 - 未詳)。1973年の東宝映画『赤い鳥逃げた?』(監督:藤田敏八、主演:原田芳雄・桃井かおり)で主題歌を歌っていた。歌手活動以外でも、自由劇場や黒テントを中心とした舞台出演・ラジオのDJ・エッセイの執筆などにマルチな才能を発揮した。西岡恭蔵の「プカプカ」のモデルとも言われる。
このアルバム「SUNNY」(1975年 FRASCO) は彼女のセカンドアルバムである。安田南(vo),山本剛(p),岡田勉(b),小原哲太郎(ds)。

Sarah Lois Vaughan (March 27, 1924 - April 3, 1990) was an American jazz singer. Nicknamed "Sassy" and "The Divine One", she won four Grammy Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Getz/Gilberto is an album by American saxophonist Stan Getz and Brazilian guitarist Joao Gilberto, featuring pianist and composer Antonio Carlos Jobim (Tom Jobim), who also composed many of the tracks. It was released in March 1964 by Verve Records.
The album features the vocals of Astrud Gilberto on two tracks, "Garota de Ipanema" ("The Girl from Ipanema") and "Corcovado". Getz/Gilberto is a jazz and bossa nova album and includes tracks such as "Desafinado", "Corcovado", and "Garota de Ipanema". The last received a Grammy Award for Record of the Year and started Astrud Gilberto's career.

John William Coltrane (September 23, 1926 - July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes and was at the forefront of free jazz. He led at least fifty recording sessions and appeared on many albums by other musicians, including trumpeter Miles Davis and pianist Thelonious Monk. Over the course of his career, Coltrane's music took on an increasingly spiritual dimension. He remains one of the most influential saxophonists in music history.
Crescent is a 1964 studio album by John Coltrane, released by Impulse! as A-66. Alongside Coltrane on tenor saxophone, the album features McCoy Tyner (piano), Jimmy Garrison (double bass) and Elvin Jones (drums) playing original Coltrane compositions.
