The Jazz Messengers were a jazz combo that existed for over thirty-five years beginning in the early 1950s as a collective, and ending when long-time leader and founding drummer Art Blakey died in 1990.

鈴木 勲（1933年1月2日 - ）は、日本のジャズベース、コントラバス奏者及び作曲家。ニックネームはオマスズ、オマさん。東京都出身。立教大学在学中、来日したルイ・アームストロング・オールスターズの公演を聴きベース奏者のミルト・ヒントンに衝撃を受ける。1956年には米軍ベースキャンプで演奏を始める。その後松本英彦クァルテット、渡辺貞夫グループに入り活動。また自己のグループ結成後ファイブスポット等でライブ活動を行う。1970年、来日したアート・ブレイキーにスカウトされ渡米、ジャズ・メッセンジャーズの一員となり全米、欧州をツアー。帰国後TBMレーベルで、本作「ブロー・アップ」（1973年録音、日本ジャズ賞受賞）等の名作を発表。 その後もジャンルを問わず多くの内外ミュージシャンと共演し、後年は日本の若手ミュージシャンの教育にも力を注いでいる。

1969年7月1日、寺本幸司のプロデュースによる「夜が明けたら」（EXPRESS-レーベル）で正式にレコード・デビュー。以後移籍することなく作品を発表しつつステージを主体に音楽活動を行う。特に池袋「文芸坐ル・ピリエ」で1997年まで催行した大晦日連続定期公演は有名である。
本作「MAKI II」は、浅川マキの通算2枚目のアルバム。1971年9月5日に東芝音楽工業 - EXPRESS・レーベル（現：ユニバーサルミュージック合同会社内EMIレコーズ・ジャパンレーベル）より発売された。

"Concierto" is an album by the Jim Hall sextet, featuring Paul Desmond, Chet Baker, Ron Carter, Steve Gadd and Roland Hanna. It was produced by Creed Taylor for his CTI Records label and recorded at Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey on April 16 and 23, 1975. "Concierto" is named after the featured 19-minute jazz version of the classical piece for guitar, "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo.

"The Modern Jazz Sextet"(1956) is a jazz album featuring the combined talents of Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Stitt, John Lewis, Percy Heath, Skeeter Best and Charlie Persip.
