Arthur "Art" Blakey (October 11, 1919 - October 16, 1990) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader.
The Jazz Messengers were a jazz combo that existed for over thirty-five years beginning in the early 1950s as a collective, and ending when long-time leader and founding drummer Art Blakey died in 1990.
"Three Blind Mice" is a 1962 jazz album released by Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers on the United Artists Jazz label, featuring live material recorded in 1962 Club Renaissance, Hollywood.

鈴木 勲(1933年1月2日 - )は、日本のジャズベース、コントラバス奏者及び作曲家。ニックネームはオマスズ、オマさん。東京都出身。立教大学在学中、来日したルイ・アームストロング・オールスターズの公演を聴きベース奏者のミルト・ヒントンに衝撃を受ける。1956年には米軍ベースキャンプで演奏を始める。その後松本英彦クァルテット、渡辺貞夫グループに入り活動。また自己のグループ結成後ファイブスポット等でライブ活動を行う。1970年、来日したアート・ブレイキーにスカウトされ渡米、ジャズ・メッセンジャーズの一員となり全米、欧州をツアー。帰国後TBMレーベルで、本作「ブロー・アップ」(1973年録音、日本ジャズ賞受賞)等の名作を発表。 その後もジャンルを問わず多くの内外ミュージシャンと共演し、後年は日本の若手ミュージシャンの教育にも力を注いでいる。

MAKI Ⅱ - 浅川マキ

浅川マキ(1942年1月27日 - 2010年1月17日)、石川県出身、作詞(詩)家、作曲家、編曲家。
1969年7月1日、寺本幸司のプロデュースによる「夜が明けたら」(EXPRESS-レーベル)で正式にレコード・デビュー。以後移籍することなく作品を発表しつつステージを主体に音楽活動を行う。特に池袋「文芸坐ル・ピリエ」で1997年まで催行した大晦日連続定期公演は有名である。
本作「MAKI II」は、浅川マキの通算2枚目のアルバム。1971年9月5日に東芝音楽工業 - EXPRESS・レーベル(現:ユニバーサルミュージック合同会社内EMIレコーズ・ジャパンレーベル)より発売された。

NEO GEO - RYUICHI SAKAMOTO

Ryuichi Sakamoto (坂本 龍一 born January 17, 1952) is a Japanese composer, singer, songwriter, record producer, activist, and actor who has pursued a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO). With his bandmates Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi, Sakamoto influenced and pioneered a number of electronic music genres.
"Neo Geo" is a 1987 album by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The term "neo geo", or "new world", is derived from Sakamoto himself as a way to describe worldwide musical diversity in regard to genre.

James Stanley Hall (December 4, 1930 - December 10, 2013) was an American jazz guitarist, composer and arranger.
"Concierto" is an album by the Jim Hall sextet, featuring Paul Desmond, Chet Baker, Ron Carter, Steve Gadd and Roland Hanna. It was produced by Creed Taylor for his CTI Records label and recorded at Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey on April 16 and 23, 1975. "Concierto" is named after the featured 19-minute jazz version of the classical piece for guitar, "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo.

"The Modern Jazz Sextet"(1956) is a jazz album featuring the combined talents of Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Stitt, John Lewis, Percy Heath, Skeeter Best and Charlie Persip. The album was conceived by producer Norman Granz for his own label, Norgran Records. Two of the album's rhythm section - Lewis and Heath - also feature in the 1952-founded Modern Jazz Quartet.

FIVE STARS - V.S.O.P. THE QUINTET

V.S.O.P. was an American jazz quintet consisting of Herbie Hancock (p,key), Wayne Shorter (ts,ss), Ron Carter (b), Tony Williams (ds) and Freddie Hubbard (tp,fhn). Hancock, Shorter, Carter, and Williams had all been members of the Miles Davis Quintet during the 1960s. The name V.S.O.P. is taken from a grade of Cognac brandy, where it signifies aged (and implicitly high quality) stock.
Recorded in Tokyo, Japan in 1979, Five Stars is a studio album featuring the V.S.O.P. Quintet.

"Decoy" is a 1984 album by jazz musician Miles Davis, recorded in 1983. It features keyboardist Robert Irving III and guitarist John Scofield contributing most of the compositions and the other solos. The theme of "That's What Happened" comes from Scofield's improvised solo from the track "Speak" included on the previous album Star People.

Grover Washington Jr. (December 12, 1943 - December 17, 1999) was an American jazz-funk / soul-jazz saxophonist. Along with George Benson, John Klemmer, David Sanborn, Bob James, Chuck Mangione, Dave Grusin, Herb Alpert, and Spyro Gyra, he is considered by many to be one of the founders of the smooth jazz genre.
"A Secret Place" is the sixth album by Grover Washington Jr., his last studio album for Kudu Records. The album topped the Billboard Jazz Albums chart and reached number seven on the Soul Albums chart in 1977.
