Stanley Getz (February 2, 1927 - June 6, 1991; aged 64) was an American jazz saxophonist, professionally known as Stan Getz.
Coleman Randolph Hawkins (November 21, 1904 - May 19, 1969; aged 64), nicknamed "Hawk" and sometimes "Bean", was an American jazz tenor saxophonist.
Paul Gonsalves (July 12, 1920 - May 15, 1974; aged 53) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist best known for his association with Duke Ellington.
Sittin' In is a 1957 studio album by Dizzy Gillespie, featuring the saxophonists Stan Getz, Paul Gonsalves and Coleman Hawkins.

The Manhattan Jazz Quintet is a jazz ensemble consisting of David Matthews on piano, Lew Soloff on trumpet, Victor Lewis on drums, Andy Snitzer on saxophone, and Charnett Moffett on bass. Previously, the band featured George Young on tenor sax, Eddie Gomez on bass, and Steve Gadd on drums. The group was formed in 1983 at the suggestion of Japanese jazz magazine Swing Journal and the King record label.
This album was recorded at Roppongi Pit Inn, Tokyo, Japan on April 21, 1986.

Laws is one of the few classical artists who has also mastered jazz, pop, and rhythm-and-blues genres, moving effortlessly from one repertory to another.
The San Francisco Concert is a live album by Hubert Laws recorded at the Paramount Theatre in California in 1975 and released in 1977 on the CTI label.

William John Evans (August 16, 1929 - September 15, 1980; aged 51) was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly played in trios. His use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines continues to influence jazz pianists today.
Explorations is an album by Bill Evans that was originally released on Riverside label in 1961. The album won the Billboard Jazz Critics Best Piano LP poll for 1961.

Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (May 27, 1946 - 19 April 2005; aged 58), also known by his abbreviated nickname NHØP, was a Danish jazz double bassist.

Thad Jones was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to Henry and Olivia Jones, a musical family of 10 (an older brother was pianist Hank Jones and a younger brother was drummer Elvin Jones).
