"Auf der Elbe Schwimmt Ein Rosa Krokodil" is a jazz album by the Synopsis group , which was created in 1974.
In 1973 the Synopsis quartet was formed and first appeared at the Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw. The group had the opportunity to make their first recording as early as the spring of 1974: on March 5 and 6, 1974, the LP "Auf der Elbe Schwimmt Ein Rosa Krokodil" was recorded on the radio of the GDR for the West Berlin label FMP.

In 1996, she published her autobiography, Life with Jazz, and in 2007 she was named an NEA Jazz Master by the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts.

It was released in Japan by Victor in 1974 and received the Swing Journal Silver Disk prize for that year. Parker was a blazingly fast virtuoso and introduced revolutionary harmonic ideas into jazz, including rapid passing chords, new variants of altered chords, and chord substitutions. Primarily a player of the alto saxophone, Bird's tone ranged from clean and penetrating to sweet and somber.

John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie (October 21, 1917 - January 6, 1993; aged 75) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator and singer.
He was a trumpet virtuoso and improviser, building on the virtuoso style of Roy Eldridge but adding layers of harmonic and rhythmic complexity previously unheard in jazz. His combination of musicianship, showmanship, and wit made him a leading popularizer of the new music called bebop. His beret and horn-rimmed spectacles, his scat singing, his bent horn, pouched cheeks, and his light-hearted personality provided some of bebop's most prominent symbols. This album is a recording of the 1948 concert.
