EAST WIND - MASABUMI KIKUCHI

Masabumi Kikuchi (菊地雅章, 19 October 1939 - 6 July 2015) was a Japanese jazz pianist and composer known for his eclectic music that ranges from vanguard classical to fusion and digital music. He worked with many diverse musicians, including Lionel Hampton, Sonny Rollins, Woody Herman, Mal Waldron, Joe Henderson, McCoy Tyner, Gil Evans, Elvin Jones, Miles Davis, Gary Peacock, Paul Motian, Billy Harper and Hannibal Peterson.
"East Wind" is recorded July 3,1974 at Victor Studio, Tokyo, Japan.

Gary Burton (born January 23, 1943) is an American jazz vibraphonist, composer, and educator. Burton developed a pianistic style of four-mallet technique as an alternative to the prevailing two-mallet technique. This approach caused him to be heralded as an innovator, and his sound and technique are widely imitated.
He is also known for pioneering fusion jazz and popularizing the duet format in jazz, as well as being a major figure in music education from his 30 years at the Berklee College of Music.
The New Quartet is an album by Gary Burton recorded on march 5 and 6,1973 at Aengus Studios, Fayville, Mass.

Dexter Gordon (February 27, 1923 - April 25, 1990) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. He was among the most influential early bebop musicians, which included other greats such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Bud Powell. Gordon's height was 6 feet 6 inches (198 cm), so he was also known as "Long Tall Dexter" and "Sophisticated Giant".
"The Other Side of Round Midnight" is an album by Dexter Gordon recorded in 1985 and released on the Blue Note label. The album was recorded during the making of for Bertrand Tavernier's 1986 film Round Midnight which also produced the Academy Award-winning soundtrack album. The album features the last recordings released under Gordon's name (although he does not appear on all tracks) which were produced and arranged by Herbie Hancock.

Bennie Wallace continues in the same New Orleans R&B vein. The music includes funky originals and a few traditional numbers ("Stormy Weather" and "Carolina Moon") and features Wallace with trombonist Ray Anderson, pianist Dr. John, guitarist John Scofield, bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Herlin Riley.

Walter Theodore "Sonny" Rollins (born September 7, 1930) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist who is widely recognized as one of the most important and influential jazz musicians.
In a seven-decade career, he has recorded over sixty albums as a leader. A number of his compositions, including "St. Thomas", "Oleo", "Doxy", "Pent-Up House", and "Airegin", have become jazz standards. Rollins has been called "the greatest living improviser" and the "Saxophone Colossus".

NAKED - ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO

The Art Ensemble of Chicago(AEC) is an avant-garde jazz group that grew out of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) in the late 1960s. The ensemble integrates many jazz styles and plays many instruments, including "little instruments": bells, bicycle horns, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and various forms of percussion. The musicians wear costumes and face paint while performing.
"Naked" is a 1986 album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago released on the Japanese DIW label. It features performances by Lester Bowie, Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, Malachi Favors Maghostut and Don Moye.
