Kenneth Sidney "Kenny" Drew (August 28, 1928 - August 4, 1993; aged 64) was an American jazz pianist. He led many recording sessions throughout the '50s, and in 1957 appeared on John Coltrane's album Blue Train. Drew was one of several American jazz musicians who settled in Europe around this period: he moved to Paris in 1961 and to Copenhagen three years later.

Keith Jarrett (born May 8, 1945) is an American jazz and classical music pianist and composer.
Standards, Vol. 2 is a jazz album by Keith Jarrett, with Gary Peacock on double bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums; the three are collectively known as Jarrett's "Standards Trio". It is the successor to their 1983 album Standards, Vol. 1. Like that album, its tracks were recorded during two long sessions in January 1983; these sessions also generated Jarrett's 1984 album of original music, Changes. Standards, Vol. 2 was released by ECM Records on CD and vinyl in April 1985.

Alfred McCoy Tyner (December 11, 1938 - March 6, 2020; aged 81) was an American jazz pianist known for his work with the John Coltrane Quartet and a long solo career. Not a player of electric keyboards and synthesizers, he was committed to acoustic instrumentation. Tyner, who was widely imitated, was one of the most recognizable and most influential pianists in jazz history.
Expansions is the tenth album by McCoy Tyner and his fourth released on the Blue Note label. It was recorded in August 1968 and features performances by Tyner with Woody Shaw, Gary Bartz, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, Herbie Lewis, and Freddie Waits.

LA4 LIVE AT MONTREUX

The L.A. Four (or The L.A. 4) was a jazz quartet that performed in Los Angeles, California, from 1974 to 1982. Its members were guitarist Laurindo Almeida, saxophonist and flutist Bud Shank, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Shelly Manne, replaced by Jeff Hamilton after 1977. They performed a mixture of straight-ahead jazz on the "cool" side, influenced by European Classical music, and bossa nova and samba (Almeida was born in Brazil).
LA4 live at Montreux is an album by the L.A. 4 recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreux, Switzerland, JUly 1979.

Paul Winter (August 31,1939) is an American saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. He is a pioneer of world music and "earth music", which interweaves the voices of the wild with instrumental voices from classical, jazz and world music.
The Paul Winter Consort is an American musical group, led by Paul Winter. Founded in 1967, the group mixes elements of jazz, classical music, world music, and the sounds of animals and nature. They are often classified as "new age" or "ecological jazz", and their musical style is often called "Earth Music".
Road is the 1970 album, recorded live in concert. Performers are Paul McCandless(oboe), David Darling(cello), Ralph Towner(g), Glen Moore(b), Collin Walcott(perc) and Paul Winter(sax).

Elvin Ray Jones (September 9, 1927 - May 18, 2004; aged 76) was an American jazz drummer of the post-bop era. He moved to New York City in 1955 and worked as a sideman for Charles Mingus, Teddy Charles, Bud Powell and Miles Davis. From 1960 to 1966, he was a member of the John Coltrane quartet (along with Jimmy Garrison on bass and McCoy Tyner on piano).
Dear John C. is an album by Elvin Jones featuring performances recorded in 1965 for the Impulse! label. The "John C." mentioned in the title is John Coltrane.
