DIZZY'S PARTY - DIZZY GILLESPIE

John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie (October 21, 1917 - January 6, 1993) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator and singer. He was a trumpet virtuoso and improviser, building on the virtuoso style of Roy Eldridge but adding layers of harmonic and rhythmic complexity previously unheard in jazz. His combination of musicianship, showmanship, and wit made him a leading popularizer of the new music called bebop.

SOULTRANE - JOHN COLTRANE

John William Coltrane (September 23, 1926 - July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes and was at the forefront of free jazz. He led at least fifty recording sessions and appeared on many albums by other musicians, including trumpeter Miles Davis and pianist Thelonious Monk. He remains one of the most influential saxophonists in music history.
"Soultrane" is the fourth studio album by John Coltrane, released in 1958 on Prestige Records. It was recorded at the studio of Rudy Van Gelder in Hackensack, New Jersey, three days after a Columbia Records session for Miles Davis and the "Milestones".

George Emanuel Lewis (born July 14, 1952) is an American composer, electronic performer, installation artist, trombone player, and scholar in the fields of improvisation and experimental music. He has been a member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) since 1971 and is a pioneer of computer music.
"Elements of Surprise" is a live album by Anthony Braxton and George Lewis recorded at the Moers Festival in Germany in 1976 and originally released on the Moers Music label.

David Murray (born February 19, 1955) is an American jazz musician who plays tenor saxophone and bass clarinet mainly. He has recorded prolifically for many record labels since the mid-1970s. Murray was a founding member of the World Saxophone Quartet with Oliver Lake, Julius Hemphill and Hamiet Bluiett.
"Lovers" is an album by David Murray released on the Japanese DIW label in 1988. It features six quartet performances by Murray(ts) with Fred Hopkins(b), Dave Burrell(p) and Ralph Peterson Jr.(ds).

Jean-Baptiste Frederic Isidor, Baron Thielemans (29 April 1922 - 22 August 2016), known professionally as Toots Thielemans, was a Belgian jazz musician. He was known for his harmonica playing, as well as his guitar, whistling skills, and composing. His most important contribution was in "championing the humble harmonica", which Thielemans made into a "legitimate voice in jazz".

His 1970 Embryo/Atlantic album "Infinite Search" was recorded with John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette, and Joe Henderson.
