Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky (born December 10, 1933 in Gustrow, often called Luten Petrowsky) is a German jazz musician. In addition to his work as a saxophonist, clarinetist and on the flute, he is also active as a composer and author. Petrowsky is considered one of the founding fathers of jazz in the German Democratic Republic. Already in the mid-1950s he played in various formations.
Selb-Dritt is recorded live from December 11th till 13th, 1980 at the Floz in Berlin.

浅川マキ(1942年1月27日 - 2010年1月17日 67歳没)石川県出身、作詞(詩)家、作曲家、編曲家。1969年7月1日、寺本幸司のプロデュースによる「夜が明けたら」(EXPRESS-レーベル)で正式にレコード・デビュー。以後移籍することなく作品を発表しつつステージを主体に音楽活動を行った。
「ONE」は、1980年4月5日に発表された浅川マキの通算11枚目のアルバムである。

SPIRITUAL NATURE - MASAHIKO TOGASHI

Masahiko Togashi (富樫 雅彦, March 22, 1940 - August 22, 2007; aged 67) was a Japanese jazz percussionist and composer.
He worked with Sadao Watanabe, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and Tony Scott in the 1950s, then founded the ensemble Jazz Academy in 1961 with Hideto Kanai, Masabumi Kikuchi, and Masayuki Takayanagi. He was an early free jazz leader in Japan. Togashi lost the use of his legs in an accident in 1969, and designed a new kit that would allow him to continue playing. Later associations included performing or recording with Paul Bley, Don Cherry, Jack DeJohnette, Charlie Haden, Steve Lacy, Gary Peacock, Masahiko Sato, and Yuji Takahashi.
Spiritual Nature is recorded live in April 9,1975 at Koseinenkin-Kaikan, Tokyo.

Zorn's avant-garde and experimental approaches to composition and improvisation are inclusive of jazz, rock, hardcore, classical, contemporary, surf, metal, soundtrack, ambient, and world music.
Archery is an album by John Zorn featuring his early "game piece" composition of the same name. The album was released by Parachute Records in 1982.

Laurindo Almeida (September 2, 1917 - July 26, 1995; aged 77) was a Brazilian guitarist and composer in classical, jazz, and Latin music. He and Bud Shank were pioneers in the creation of bossa nova. Almeida was the first guitarist to receive Grammy Awards for both classical and jazz performances. His discography encompasses more than a hundred recordings over five decades.
Virtuoso Guitar is an album released by Laurindo Almeida in 1977 on Crystal Clear CCS 8001. The album was recorded direct-to-disc, and uses the 45 rpm format. The recording is a blend of jazz and classical music.

Homer Louis "Boots" Randolph III (June 3, 1927 - July 3, 2007; aged 80) was an American musician best known for his 1963 saxophone hit "Yakety Sax". Randolph was a major part of the "Nashville sound" for most of his professional career.
Yakety Madness! was recorded in 1982 and released on Palo Alto Jazz Records.

John Leslie "Wes" Montgomery (March 6, 1923 - June 15, 1968; aged 45) was an American jazz guitarist. One of the most influential guitarists of the twentieth century, Montgomery was known for an unusual technique of plucking the strings with the side of his thumb and his extensive use of octaves, which gave him a distinctive sound. His recordings up to 1965 were oriented towards hard bop, soul jazz, and post bop, but around 1965 he began recording more pop-oriented instrumental albums that found mainstream success.
