尾崎紀世彦ファーストアルバム

尾崎 紀世彦(おざき きよひこ、1943年〈昭和18年〉1月1日 - 2012年〈平成24年〉5月30日)は、日本のポップス歌手。神奈川県茅ヶ崎市出身(東京都渋谷区生まれ)。1960年にハワイアンバンド「ヒロ・ハワイアンズ」結成、1965年にカントリーバンド「ジミー時田とマウンテンプレイボーイズ」加入。1967年からコーラス・グループ「ザ・ワンダース」を経て、1970年にソロ歌手としてデビュー。愛称は「キーヨ」。ダイナミックな歌唱力と、立派なもみあげや髭がトレードマーク。
ヒット曲を持ちながらも、「いい歌を自由に歌い続けたい」との思いから、スタンダード・ナンバーを中心として、ジャンルや新旧を問わず数多くの名曲をカバーし、独自の歌手路線を歩んだ。歌そのものの楽しさや素晴らしさを伝えることを生涯追求した。本作は1971年5月25日にリリースされた尾崎紀世彦のファーストアルバム(洋楽カヴァーアルバム)である。

PEREZ PRADO GOLDEN ALBUM

Damaso Perez Prado (December 11, 1916 - September 14, 1989) was a Cuban bandleader, pianist and composer who popularized the mambo in the 1950s. He frequently made brief appearances in films, primarily of the rumberas genre. The success of his orchestra and hits such as "Mambo No. 5" earned him the nickname "King of the Mambo". Perez Prado became a naturalized citizen of Mexico in 1980, where he died in 1989. His son, Perez Jr., continues to direct the Perez Prado Orchestra in Mexico City to this day.

WEATHER REPORT LIVE IN TOKYO

Weather Report was an American jazz fusion band of the 1970s and early 1980s. The band was initially co-led by the Austrian-born keyboard player Joe Zawinul, the American saxophonist Wayne Shorter and Czech bassist Miroslav Vitous.
Live in Tokyo is the third release, and first live album by Weather Report, and was initially released on CBS Records in Japan only. Available in the United States as an import, it was reissued by Wounded Bird Records for the U.S. in 2014. Recording took place on January 13, 1972, one of five sold-out concerts played in Japan during that January.

SUPER BLUE - FREDDIE HUBBARD

Frederick Dewayne Hubbard (April 7, 1938 - December 29, 2008) was an American jazz trumpeter. He played bebop, hard bop, and post-bop styles from the early 1960s onwards. His unmistakable and influential tone contributed to new perspectives for modern jazz and bebop.
"Super Blue" is a 1978 album by Freddie Hubbard. It was originally released on the Columbia label and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Charts. The album features performances by Hubbard, Hubert Laws, Joe Henderson and Kenny Barron with George Benson guesting on one track.

ECLYPSO - TOMMY FLANAGAN

Thomas Lee Flanagan (March 16, 1930 - November 16, 2001) was an American jazz pianist and composer. He grew up in Detroit, initially influenced by such pianists as Art Tatum, Teddy Wilson, and Nat King Cole, and then by the newer bebop musicians. Within months of moving to New York in 1956, he had recorded with Miles Davis and on Sonny Rollins' landmark Saxophone Colossus. Recordings under various leaders, including the historically important Giant Steps of John Coltrane, and The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery, continued well into 1962, when he became vocalist Ella Fitzgerald's full-time accompanist.
Eclypso is an album by Tommy Flanagan, bassist George Mraz, and drummer Elvin Jones recorded in 1977 for the Enja label.

Charles Mingus Jr. (April 22, 1922 - January 5, 1979) was an American jazz double bassist, pianist, composer and bandleader. A major proponent of collective improvisation, he is considered to be one of the greatest jazz musicians and composers in history, with a career spanning three decades and collaborations with other jazz legends such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Dannie Richmond, and Herbie Hancock.
"Pithecanthropus Erectus" is a 1956 album by Charles Mingus. Mingus noted that this was the first album where he taught arrangements to his musicians by ear in lieu of putting the chords and arrangements in writing.

THE GREETING - McCOY TYNER

Alfred McCoy Tyner (December 11, 1938 - March 6, 2020) was an American jazz pianist known for his work with the John Coltrane Quartet and a long solo career. He was an NEA Jazz Master and a five-time Grammy winner. Not a player of electric keyboards and synthesizers, he was committed to acoustic instrumentation. Tyner, who was widely imitated, was one of the most recognizable and most influential pianists in jazz history.
"The Greeting" is a 1978 live album by McCoy Tyner, his thirteenth release on the Milestone label. It was recorded in March 1978 at the Great American Music Hall and features performances by Tyner with a sextet featuring George Adams, Joe Ford, Charles Fambrough, Woody "Sonship" Theus and Guilherme Franco and a solo performance of John Coltrane's "Naima".

BASED ON BACH & THE BLUES - THE MODERN JAZZ QUARTET

The Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ) was a jazz combo established in 1952 that played music influenced by classical, cool jazz, blues and bebop. For most of its history the Quartet consisted of John Lewis (piano), Milt Jackson (vibraphone), Percy Heath (double bass), and Connie Kay (drums). The group grew out of the rhythm section of Dizzy Gillespie's big band from 1946 to 1948, which consisted of Lewis and Jackson along with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Kenny Clarke. They recorded as the Milt Jackson Quartet in 1951 and Brown left the group, being replaced on bass by Heath. During the early-to-mid-1950s they became the Modern Jazz Quartet, Lewis became the group's musical director.
"Based on Bach & The Blues" is an album by MJQ recorded in 1973 for the Atlantic label.

Ian Ernest Gilmore Evans (May 13, 1912 - March 20, 1988) was a Canadian-American jazz pianist, arranger, composer and bandleader. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest orchestrators in jazz, playing an important role in the development of cool jazz, modal jazz, free jazz, and jazz fusion. He is best known for his acclaimed collaborations with Miles Davis.
This album is a performance by the Gil Evans Orchestra recorded in New York in 1969.

Arthur Edward Pepper Jr. (September 1, 1925 - June 15, 1982) was an American alto saxophonist and very occasional tenor saxophonist and clarinetist. A longtime figure in West Coast jazz, Pepper came to prominence in Stan Kenton's big band.
"Living Legend" is a 1975 jazz album by Art Pepper playing with Hampton Hawes, Charlie Haden and Shelly Manne. This was Art Pepper's 'comeback' album, the first to be released after his long absence due to drug addiction and incarceration in San Quentin prison.
