David Murray (born February 19, 1955) is an American jazz musician who plays tenor saxophone and bass clarinet mainly. He has recorded prolifically for many record labels since the mid-1970s.
"Live at Sweet Basil Volume 1" is an album by David Murray released on the Italian Black Saint label in 1984 and the first to feature his Big Band. It features performances by Murray, Olu Dara, Baikida Carroll, Craig Harris, Bob Stewart, Vincent Chancey, Steve Coleman, John Purcell, Rod Williams, Fred Hopkins and Billy Higgins conducted by Lawrence "Butch" Morris.

Blood, Sweat & Tears is a Canadian-American jazz-rock music group.
They were originally formed in 1967 in New York City. Since their beginnings, the band has gone through numerous iterations with varying personnel and has encompassed a multitude of musical styles. The band is most notable for their fusion of rock, blues, pop music, horn arrangements and jazz improvisation into a hybrid that came to be known as "jazz-rock".
"Blood, Sweat & Tears 3" is the third album by the band Blood, Sweat & Tears, released in 1970.

FULL FORCE - ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO

The Art Ensemble of Chicago(AEC) is an avant-garde jazz group that grew out of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) in the late 1960s. The ensemble integrates many jazz styles and plays many instruments, including "little instruments": bells, bicycle horns, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and various forms of percussion. The musicians wear costumes and face paint while performing.
"Full Force" is a 1980 album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, their second to appear on the ECM label.

PLAY BACH GOLDEN PRIZE - JACQUES LOUSSIER TRIO

The Jacques Loussier Trio was a French Third Stream jazz piano trio, led by pianist Jacques Loussier, that became known for its jazz interpretations of European classical music. They were commonly known in France as "le trio Play Bach" after the title of their first LPs.
The trio was formed in 1959 by Loussier, bass player Pierre Michelot and percussionist Christian Garros. They reworked mostly Baroque music, in particular that by Johann Sebastian Bach but also by Vivaldi and other composers, to fit their own style and instruments.
The group was commercially successful but less popular with critics and jazz purists.

MINGUS DYNASTY - CHARLES MINGUS and HIS JAZZ GROUPS

Charles Mingus Jr. (April 22, 1922 - January 5, 1979) was an American jazz double bassist, pianist, composer and bandleader. A major proponent of collective improvisation, he is considered to be one of the greatest jazz musicians and composers in history, with a career spanning three decades and collaborations with other jazz legends such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Dannie Richmond, and Herbie Hancock.
"Mingus Dynasty" is a jazz album by Charles Mingus, recorded in 1959 and released on Columbia Records in May 1960. It is a companion album to his 1959 record, Mingus Ah Um, and was inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. The title alludes to Mingus's ancestry which was partially Chinese.

He is best known for a series of albums under his own name on the CTI record label and for playing in the initial incarnation of Chick Corea's Return to Forever.
"Benson & Farrell" is the fourteenth album by George Benson and Joe Farrell featuring performances recorded in 1976 and released on the CTI label.
