Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell (September 27, 1924 - July 31, 1966) was an American jazz pianist and composer. Along with Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, and Dizzy Gillespie, Powell was a leading figure in the development of bebop. His virtuosity led many to call him the Charlie Parker of the piano.
"Swingin' with Bud" is a studio album by Bud Powell, released in 1958 by RCA Victor, featuring a session Powell recorded in 1957.

Edwin James Costa (August 14, 1930 - July 28, 1962) was an American jazz pianist, vibraphonist, composer and arranger. In 1957 he was chosen as Down Beat jazz critics' new star on piano and vibes - the first time that one artist won two categories in the same year. He became known for his percussive, driving piano style that concentrated on the lower octaves of the keyboard.
"The House of Blue Lights" is an album by Eddie Costa with Wendell Marshall (bass), Paul Motian (drums), recorded in 1958 and released on the Dot label.

Oscar Emmanuel Peterson (August 15, 1925 - December 23, 2007) was a Canadian jazz pianist, virtuoso and composer. He was called the "Maharaja of the keyboard" by Duke Ellington, simply "O.P." by his friends, and informally in the jazz community as "the King of inside swing".
Harry "Sweets" Edison (October 10, 1915 - July 27, 1999) was an American jazz trumpeter and a member of the Count Basie Orchestra. His greatest impact was as a Hollywood studio musician, whose muted trumpet can be heard backing singers, most notably Frank Sinatra.

Harold Mabern Jr. (March 20, 1936 - September 17, 2019) was an American jazz pianist and composer, principally in the hard bop, post-bop, and soul jazz fields. He is described in The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings as "one of the great post-bop pianists".
Rakin' and Scrapin' is the second album led by Harold Mabern that was recorded in 1968 and released on the Prestige label.

Alfred McCoy Tyner (December 11, 1938 - March 6, 2020) was an American jazz pianist known for his work with the John Coltrane Quartet and a long solo career. He was an NEA Jazz Master and a five-time Grammy winner. Tyner, who was widely imitated, was one of the most recognizable and most influential pianists in jazz history.
Song for My Lady is a 1973 album by McCoy Tyner, his second to be released on the Milestone label. It was recorded in September and November 1972 and features performances by Tyner with Sonny Fortune, Calvin Hill, Alphonse Mouzon, Charles Tolliver and Mtume.

Arthur Blakey (October 11, 1919 - October 16, 1990) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader. In the mid-1950s, Horace Silver and Blakey formed the Jazz Messengers, a group that the drummer was associated with for the next 35 years. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1991.
Caravan is a jazz album released by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers in February 1963. It was Blakey's first album for Riverside Records after he signed with them in October 1962. The songs were recorded at the Plaza Sound Studio in New York City, on October 23-24, 1962.
