He released over 200 recordings, won eight Grammy Awards, and received numerous other awards and honours. He is considered one of the greatest jazz pianists, and played thousands of concerts worldwide in a career lasting more than 60 years.

Claude Berkeley Williamson (November 18, 1926 - July 16, 2016) was an American jazz pianist. Williamson was born in Brattleboro, Vermont, United States.
He studied at the New England Conservatory of Music before moving to jazz, influenced mainly by Teddy Wilson, then by Al Haig and Bud Powell.
In 1947, he moved to California, working first with Teddy Edwards, then with Red Norvo in San Francisco, with Charlie Barnet in 1949, and with June Christy for two years. Later he worked with Max Roach, Art Pepper and others. In 1956, he became the piano player in the Bud Shank quartet.

Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell (September 27, 1924 - July 31, 1966) was an American jazz pianist. Though Thelonious Monk was a close friend and influence, his greatest piano influence was Art Tatum. Along with Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, and Dizzy Gillespie, Powell was a leading figure in the development of modern jazz, or bebop. His virtuosity led many to call him the Charlie Parker of the piano.
"The Lonely One..." is a studio album by Bud Powell, released in 1959 by Verve, featuring three sessions that Powell recorded at Fine Sound Studios in New York in 1955.

Michael "Dodo" Marmarosa (December 12, 1925 - September 17, 2002) was an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. Originating in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marmarosa became a professional musician in his mid-teens.
"Dodo's Back!" is an album led by Dodo Marmarosa, with Richard Evans on bass and Marshall Thompson on drums. It was recorded on May 9 and 10, 1961, and released the following year on the Argo(Cadet)label.(Argo 4000: The name of the label was changed Argo to Cadet.)

Raphael Homer "Ray" Bryant (December 24, 1931 - June 2, 2011) was an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. Bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 24, 1931.
Bryant settled in New York in 1959. There, he played both mainstream jazz and the newer hard bop. His earlier period at the Blue Note in Philadelphia helped him get work, as he already knew a lot of the musicians who were based in New York.
