Stanley Getz (February 2, 1927 - June 6, 1991; aged 64) was an American jazz saxophonist. Getz performed in bebop and cool jazz groups. Influenced by Joao Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim, he popularized bossa nova in the United States with the hit single "The Girl from Ipanema" (1964).

Hidehiko "Sleepy" Matsumoto (松本英彦) (October 12, 1926, Okayama – February 29, 2000, Tokyo; aged 73) was a Japanese jazz saxophonist and bandleader. In 1959 he became a member of Hideo Shiraki's small ensemble, and played with Gerald Wilson at the 1963 Monterey Jazz Festival and Toshiko Akiyoshi in 1964. On July 22 and 24, 1966, he played with the John Coltrane quintet in Tokyo while the group was touring Japan.
