Joe Henderson (April 24, 1937 - June 30, 2001; aged 64) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. In a career spanning more than four decades, Henderson played with many of the leading American players of his day and recorded for several prominent labels, including Blue Note, Milestone, and Verve.
An Evening with Joe Henderson is a live album by Joe Henderson recorded in Italy in 1987 and released on the Red label. It features Henderson in a trio with bassist Charlie Haden and drummer Al Foster.

Robert Michael Watson Jr. (born August 23, 1953; age 70), known professionally as Bobby Watson, is an American saxophonist, composer, and educator. He graduated in 1975, moved to New York City, and became music director for the Jazz Messengers from 1977 to 1981. He formed the band Bobby Watson & Horizon with bassist Curtis Lundy and drummer Victor Lewis, with whom he played throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Hunter became known as a member of Gil Evans ' Monday Night Orchestra from 1984 until his death in 1988. From 2015 he was part of the Manhattan Jazz Quintet , with whom several albums were created.

Miroslav Ladislav Vitous (born Prague, Czechoslovakia, 6 December 1947; age 75) is a Czech jazz bassist. In 1967, in Chicago, Miles Davis saw Vitous playing with Clark Terry and invited him to join his group for a residency at The Village Gate in New York City. He is a founding member of the American jazz fusion band Weather Report. After that, he turned to solo work, and has left behind excellent works in collaboration with various musicians for each album.

Joanne Brackeen (born Joanne Grogan; July 26, 1938 ; age 85) is an American jazz pianist and music educator. In the 1950s she performed with Dexter Gordon, Teddy Edwards, and Charles Brackeen. She and Brackeen married and moved to New York City in 1965.
Ryo Kawasaki (川崎 燎, Kawasaki Ryō, February 25, 1947 – April 13, 2020; aged 73) was a Japanese jazz fusion guitarist, composer and band leader, best known as one of the first musicians to develop and popularise the fusion genre and for helping to develop the guitar synthesizer in collaboration with Roland Corporation and Korg.

Giuseppi Logan (May 22, 1935 – April 17, 2020; aged 84) was a jazz musician, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who taught himself to play piano and drums before switching to reeds at the age of 12. At the age of 15 he began playing with Earl Bostic and later studied at the New England Conservatory. In 1964 he relocated to New York and became active in the free jazz scene.
The Giuseppi Logan Quintet is an album by Giuseppi Logan, recorded in September 2009 and released in 2010 on the Tompkins Square label.
