TROUPEAU BLEU - CORTEX

Cortex is a psychedelic rock, jazz funk band formed in 1974. Cortex is known for polyrhythmic instrumentals and funk, bossanova, samba-jazz, and jazz grooves, mixed with atmospheric vocals. Cortex broke up in 1981, but was reformed by Alain Mion in 2009, with a rotating group of members.
Cortex's album Troupeau Bleu was recorded in 2 days, July 15-16, 1975 at Studio Damiens, Boulogne-Billancourt (France). French singer Mireille Dalbray featured on almost all the tracks.

Frederick Dewayne Hubbard (April 7, 1938 - December 29, 2008; aged 70) was an American jazz trumpeter. He played bebop, hard bop, and post-bop styles from the early 1960s onwards. His unmistakable and influential tone contributed to new perspectives for modern jazz and bebop.
Born to Be Blue is an album by Freddie Hubbard recorded in December 1981 and released on the Pablo Today label in 1982.

INTRODUCING - LEE MORGAN

Edward Lee Morgan (July 10, 1938 - February 19, 1972; aged 33) was an American jazz trumpeter and composer. One of the key hard bop musicians of the 1960s, Morgan came to prominence in his late teens, recording on John Coltrane's Blue Train (1957) and with the band of drummer Art Blakey before launching a solo career. After leaving Blakey for the final time, Morgan continued to work prolifically as both a leader and a sideman with the likes of Hank Mobley and Wayne Shorter, becoming a cornerstone of the Blue Note label.
Introducing Lee Morgan is an album by Lee Morgan with Hank Mobley's quintet released on the Savoy label. It was recorded on November 5 and 7, 1956, and features performances by Morgan with Hank Mobley, Hank Jones, Doug Watkins and Art Taylor.

The Art Ensemble of Chicago is an avant-garde jazz group that grew out of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) in the late 1960s. The ensemble integrates many jazz styles and plays many instruments, including "little instruments": bells, bicycle horns, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and various forms of percussion. The musicians would wear costumes and face paint while performing.
Dreaming of the Masters Suite: Music Inspired by and Dedicated to John Coltrane is an album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago released on the Japanese DIW label.

Lester Bowie (October 11, 1941 - November 8, 1999; aged 58) was an American jazz trumpet player and composer. He was a member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians and co-founded the Art Ensemble of Chicago.
Funky T. Cool T. is the fifth album Lester Bowie recorded for the Japanese DIW label and the second album by his "New York Organ Ensemble". It was released in 1991 and features performances by Bowie, Steve Turre, Amina Claudine Myers James Carter, Phillip Wilson and Famoudou Don Moye.

Dom Um Romão (3 August 1925 – 27 July 2005; aged 75) was a Brazilian jazz drummer and percussionist. Noted for his expressive stylings with the fusion band Weather Report. Romão also recorded with varied notable artists such as Cannonball Adderley, Paul Simon, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jorge Ben, Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66, and Tony Bennett.
Rhythm Traveller is an album by Dom Um Romão recorded in 1997.

Arthur Blakey (October 11, 1919 - October 16, 1990; aged 71) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader. In the mid-1950s, Horace Silver and Blakey formed the Jazz Messengers, a group that the drummer was associated with for the next 35 years.
1958 – Paris Olympia is a live album by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers recorded at L'Olympia in 1958 and originally released on the French Fontana label.

He was born in Grenada County, Mississippi, and learned to play the blues from listening to records by Muddy Waters and Little Walter. He was known for his distinctive tremolo guitar playing.
West Side Soul is the debut studio album by Magic Sam. Released by Delmark Records in 1968, it is often cited as one of the key modern electric blues albums.
