Abdullah Ibrahim (born Adolph Johannes Brand on 9 October 1934; age 90), previously known as Dollar Brand, is a South African pianist and composer. His music reflects many of the musical influences of his childhood in the multicultural port areas of Cape Town, ranging from traditional African songs to the gospel of the AME Church and Ragas, to more modern jazz and other Western styles.
Banyana – Children of Africa is a 1976 jazz album by Abdullah Ibrahim. The album was recorded in January 1976. It is predominantly a piano trio recording, with Abdullah Ibrahim on piano, Cecil McBee on bass, and Roy Brooks on drums. On "Ishmael", Ibrahim also plays soprano saxophone and sings.

He performed with Sadao Watanabe in 1973 and then formed the jazz-fusion band Native Son with Kosuke Mine, which toured internationally. Other credits include performing or recording with Hiroshi Murakami, Hiroshi Fukumura, Motohiko Hino, Shigeharu Mukai, Ron Carter, Tony Williams, Eddie Gómez and Eliot Zigmund.

In 1972, boxing superstar Muhammad Ali came to Japan for the first time! His opponent was Mac Foster, nicknamed "Big Mac the Knife" for his powerful left hook. Ali, who was nicknamed "Big Mouth" for his many bold statements, fought his first match in Japan on April 1st, April Fool's Day.
This album is avant-garde collage work documents the Muhammad Ali vs. Foster match held at the Budokan in April 1972 (including press conferences, interviews, and live commentary of the match), and includes performances by the Yamashita Yosuke Trio.

He enrolled in the first class of Senzoku Gakuen Junior College's jazz course to study under Yamashita Yosuke. After graduating, he studied abroad at Berklee College of Music for four years.

He is also known for his performances on piano as a member of Cal Tjader's 1950s ensembles and for his own solo career.
Jazz Impressions is the first compilation album of songs by Vince Guaraldi. The compilation was released in March 1964.
