From birth he had osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic disease that causes brittle bones and, in his case, short stature. He became one of the most accomplished jazz pianists of his generation despite his health condition and very short life span.

INVITATION - AL HAIG TRIO 🔎

Alan Warren Haig (July 19, 1922 – November 16, 1982; aged 60) was an American jazz pianist, best known as one of the pioneers of bebop. Although Haig is best remembered for playing bebop, he spent much of his career playing in non-jazz contexts. His work was the subject of a revival in the 1970s.
In 1974, Haig was invited to tour Europe by Tony Williams, owner of Spotlite Records in the United Kingdom. At the end of a very successful tour he recorded the Invitation album for Spotlite with Bibi Rovère on bass and Kenny Clarke on drums.

Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea (June 12, 1941 – February 9, 2021; aged 79) was an American jazz pianist, composer, bandleader and occasional percussionist. As a member of Miles Davis's band in the late 1960s, he participated in the birth of jazz fusion. In the 1970s he formed Return to Forever. Along with McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett, Corea is considered to have been one of the foremost pianists of the post-John Coltrane era.
Early Circle is compilation album by Chick Corea, recorded at A & R Studios, NYC on October 13 (#4-9) and October 19, 1970. Tracks 1 to 9 originally issued in 1975 on Circling In (Blue Note BN-LA472-H2)

Fritz Pauer ( 14 October, 1943 – July 1, 2012) was an Austrian jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader.
Born in Vienna, Pauer began his professional playing career as a teenager, performing with Hans Koller (1960–62) before leading his own ensembles in Berlin. In the 1960s he played with Don Byas, Booker Ervin, Art Farmer, Dexter Gordon, Friedrich Gulda, and Annie Ross.
Blues Inside Out is an album by The Fritz Pauer Trio, recorded March 6th, 1978 in Villingen and released on the MPS Records.

Columbus Calvin "Duke" Pearson Jr. (August 17, 1932 – August 4, 1980; aged 47) was an American jazz pianist and composer. Allmusic describes him as having a "big part in shaping the Blue Note label's hard bop direction in the 1960s as a record producer."
Dedication! is the fourth album attributed to Duke Pearson featuring performances originally recorded in 1961 for the Jazzline label but not released until 1970 on the Prestige label.
