Terence Oliver Blanchard (born March 13, 1962; age 63) is an American jazz trumpeter and composer. He has also written two operas and more than 80 film and television scores. Blanchard has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Original Score for BlacKkKlansman (2018) and Da 5 Bloods (2020), both directed by Spike Lee, a frequent collaborator.

The Fabulous Fats Navarro, Vol. 2 is a studio album by Fats Navarro and released posthumously by Blue Note Records. Personnel varied through the studio sessions that made up the album but among the most notable were Wardell Gray, Bud Powell, and Howard McGhee.

Charles Moffett (September 6, 1929 – February 14, 1997; aged 67) was an American free jazz drummer.
The title of his first solo album The Gift is a reference to his love of teaching music. His then seven-year-old son Codaryl played drums on that album. His children are double bassist Charnett Moffett, drummer Codaryl "Cody" Moffett, vocalist Charisse Moffett, trumpeter Mondre Moffett, and saxophonist Charles Moffett, Jr.
The Gift is an album by Moffett. It was recorded during 1969 in New York City, and was released the same year by Savoy Records.

Rashied Ali, born Robert Patterson (July 1, 1933 – August 12, 2009; aged 76), was an American free jazz and avant-garde drummer who was best known for performing with John Coltrane in the last years of Coltrane's life.
Blackbird is duo album by Pastorius and Ali, recorded live in France, 1984.
