A HANDFUL OF BEAUTY - SHAKTI with JOHN McLAUGHLIN 🔎

John McLaughlin (born 4 January 1942; age 83), also known as Mahavishnu, is an English guitarist, bandleader, and composer. A pioneer of jazz fusion, his music combines elements of jazz with rock, world music, Western classical music, flamenco, and blues. In 1969, he then moved to the U.S., where he played with drummer Tony Williams's group Lifetime and then with Miles Davis on his 1969-72 electric jazz fusion albums In a Silent Way, Bitches Brew, Jack Johnson, Live-Evil, and On the Corner.
Shakti is a fusion band founded by John McLaughlin and Indian violinist Shenkar with percussionists Zakir Hussain (on tabla) and Vikku Vinayakram (on ghatam).
A Handful of Beauty is the first studio album released by Shakti in 1976.

George Washington Benson (born March 22, 1943; age 82) is an American jazz fusion guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He began his professional career at the age of 19 as a jazz guitarist.
His album Breezin' was certified triple-platinum, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard album chart in 1976. His concerts were well attended through the 1980s, and he still has a large following.
Weekend in L.A. is a 1978 live album by George Benson. The album was recorded live at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Tokyo Day Trip Live EP is an album by Pat Metheny with bassist Christian McBride and drummer Antonio Sanchez released on May 20, 2008. The album was recorded live at Blue Note Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan.

He was the leader of the Pat Metheny Group (1977–2010) and continues to work in various small-combo, duet, and solo settings, as well as other side projects. His style incorporates elements of progressive and contemporary jazz, latin jazz, and jazz fusion.
Pat Metheny Group is the debut album by the Pat Metheny Group, recorded in January 1978 and released on ECM in March that same year. The quartet features rhythm section Lyle Mays, Mark Egan, and Danny Gottlieb.

Johnny Henry Smith II (June 25, 1922 – June 11, 2013; aged 90) was an American cool jazz and mainstream jazz guitarist. He wrote "Walk, Don't Run" in 1954. In 1984, Smith was inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame.
Moonlight in Vermont is a 1956 compilation album by Johnny Smith, featuring tenor saxophonist Stan Getz. The material on the album was recorded between 1952 and 1953, and was drawn from two 10-inch LPs, both titled "Jazz at NBC", which were previously issued by the Royal Roost label.
