Ella and Louis is a studio album by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, accompanied by the Oscar Peterson Quartet, released in October 1956. Having previously collaborated in the late 1940s for the Decca label, this was the first of three albums that Fitzgerald and Armstrong were to record together for Verve Records, later followed by 1957's Ella and Louis Again and 1959's Porgy and Bess.

BISTRO BALLADS - AUDREY MORRIS

Audrey Morris (November 12, 1928 - April 1, 2018; aged 89) was an American singer and pianist who specialized in jazz ballads.
In 1950, she began performing in the Capitol Lounge and four years later began singing at Mister Kelly's. In 1955 she sang with Charlie Spivak and in 1956 with Claude Thornhill in the NBC television show Moonlight in Vermont. She recorded her first album in 1955 for the RCA sub-label "X" (Bistro Ballads, with Johnny Pate); the following year for Bethlehem Records (The Voice of Audrey Morris with arrangements by Marty Paich).

Amalia da Piedade Rebordao Rodrigues (23 July 1920 - 6 October 1999; aged 79), better known as Amalia Rodrigues or popularly as Amalia, was a Portuguese fadista (fado singer) and actress.
Known as the 'Rainha do Fado' ("Queen of Fado"), Rodrigues was instrumental in popularising fado worldwide and travelled internationally throughout her career. Amalia remains the best-selling Portuguese artist in history.
The First Recordings is an album by Amalia Rodrigues, released in 1996 on EPM Musique(France).

RITUAL - MISIA

Mísia (born Susana Maria Alfonso de Aguiar, in 1955 in Porto, Portugal) is a Portuguese fado singer. Mísia is a polyglot. Despite singing mostly fado, she has sung some of her songs in Spanish, French, Catalan, English, and even Japanese.
Mísia developed a new style: she modernized Amália Rodrigues's fado, shocking orthodox audiences by adding to the traditional instruments (bass guitar, classical guitar and Portuguese guitar) the sensuality of the accordion and the violin.
In 2001, she decided to pay a tribute to Amália Rodrigues, after the latter's death, and recorded "Ritual", where all the songs (except the last one) were recorded as traditional three-instrument fados.

BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY

Big Brother and the Holding Company is an American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1965 as part of the same psychedelic music scene that produced the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Jefferson Airplane. After some initial personnel changes, the band became well known with the lineup of vocalist Janis Joplin, guitarists Sam Andrew and James Gurley, bassist Peter Albin, and drummer Dave Getz. Joplin left the band in 1968, following the recording of Cheap Thrills, for a successful solo career.
Big Brother & the Holding Company is the debut album of Big Brother and the Holding Company, with Janis Joplin, their main singer. Recorded during three days in December 1966 for Mainstream Records, it was released in the summer of 1967, shortly after the band's major success at the Monterey Pop Festival.
