READY AND WILLING - THE HERMAN FOSTER TRIO

Herman Foster (April 26, 1928 - April 3, 1999; aged 70) was an American bebop jazz pianist.
He was blinded during childbirth through the carelessness of a doctor. He began his musical career early playing the violin, clarinet, saxophone, and piano. He met Lou Donaldson and they played together from 1953 to 1966. He also worked with King Curtis, Bill English, and Seldon Powell in the 1950s, and with Al Casey and Gloria Lynne in the 1960s, in addition to playing with his own trio. He returned to work in Donaldson's quartet in the 1980s. In 1996 he married Hisayo Tominaga, a jazz vocalist.
Ready and Willing by the Herman Foster Trio is an album by Herman Foster, released on the Argo label in 1963.

JAZZHOUSE - BILL EVANS

William John Evans (August 16, 1929 - September 15, 1980; aged 51) was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly worked as the leader of a trio. His use of impressionist harmony, interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines continues to influence jazz pianists today.
Jazzhouse is a live album by Bill Evans with Eddie Gómez and Marty Morell recorded at the Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen in 1969 but not released until the 1980s on the Milestone label. The same concert also produced the album You're Gonna Hear From Me.

Michel Jean Legrand (24 February 1932 - 26 January 2019; aged 86) was a French musical composer, arranger, conductor, and jazz pianist. Legrand was a prolific composer, having written over 200 film and television scores, in addition to many songs. His scores for the films of French New Wave director Jacques Demy, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) and The Young Girls of Rochefort (1967), earned Legrand his first Academy Award nominations.

Harlem Blues is an album by Phineas Newborn Jr. recorded in 1969 but not released on the Contemporary label until 1975. The album was recorded at the same sessions that produced Please Send Me Someone to Love.

Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea (June 12, 1941 - February 9, 2021; aged 79) was an American jazz composer, keyboardist, bandleader, and occasional percussionist. His compositions "Spain", "500 Miles High", "La Fiesta", "Armando's Rhumba" and "Windows" are widely considered jazz standards. As a member of Miles Davis's band in the late 1960s, he participated in the birth of jazz fusion. In the 1970s he formed Return to Forever. Corea continued to collaborate frequently while exploring different musical styles throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Herbert Jeffrey Hancock (born April 12, 1940; age 83) is an American jazz pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, composer, and occasional actor. Hancock started his career with trumpeter Donald Byrd's group. He shortly thereafter joined the Miles Davis Quintet, where he helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the post-bop sound. In the 1970s, Hancock experimented with jazz fusion, funk, and electro styles, utilizing a wide array of synthesizers and electronics.
Jammin'with Herbie Hancock is a re-edited album of the Out of This World (Pepper Adams = Donald Byrd Quintet album(1961)).

Elsie Bianchi Brunner (born November 5, 1930 in Zurich as Elsie Brunner - July 17, 2016; aged 85) was a Swiss jazz musician (accordion, piano, vocals) who, after her musical career in the USA, worked as a sports goods manufacturer worked.
In 1956 she married the saxophonist and bassist Siro Bianchi, with whom she worked as a professional musician, expanding the duo into a trio with drummers such as Daniel Humair, Fritz Stähli and Kenny Schmidt. In 1968 the couple moved to the United States.
The Sweetest Sound is an album by Elsie Bianchi with Siro Bianchi (b) and Charly Antolini(ds) recorded at SABA-Tonstudio, 25, November 1965.

Cecil Percival Taylor (March 25, 1929 - April 5, 2018; aged 89) was an American pianist and poet. Taylor was classically trained and was one of the pioneers of free jazz. His music is characterized by an energetic, physical approach, resulting in complex improvisation often involving tone clusters and intricate polyrhythms. His technique has been compared to percussion.
Cell Walk for Celeste is an album by Cecil Taylor recorded for the Candid label in January 1961 but not released until 1988. The album features performances by Taylor with Archie Shepp, Buell Neidlinger and Denis Charles. Additional recordings from these sessions were released on New York City R&B in 1971 and Jumpin' Punkins in 1987.

Bley's prolific output includes influential recordings from the 1950s through to his solo piano recordings of the 2000s.
