ZOOT! - ZOOT SIMS

John Haley "Zoot" Sims (October 29, 1925 – March 23, 1985; aged 59) was an American jazz saxophonist, playing mainly tenor but also alto (and, later, soprano) saxophone. He first gained attention in the "Four Brothers" sax section of Woody Herman's big band, afterward enjoying a long solo career, often in partnership with fellow saxmen Gerry Mulligan and Al Cohn.
Zoot! (also released as Zoot Sims Quintet) is an album by Zoot Sims featuring tracks recorded in 1956 for the Riverside label.

David Keith Murray (born February 19, 1955; age 67) is an American jazz musician who plays tenor saxophone and bass clarinet mainly. He has recorded prolifically for many record labels since the mid-1970s.
Live at the Lower Manhattan Ocean Club is a live album by David Murray. It was originally released as two volumes on the India Navigation label in 1978 and re-released in 1989 on a single CD (with a slightly edited final track). It features a live performance by Murray, trumpeter Lester Bowie, bassist Fred Hopkins and drummer Phillip Wilson recorded in concert at the Lower Manhattan Ocean Club, NYC.

TIME AND AGAIN - YASUAKI SHIMIZU & THE SAXOPHONETTES

Yasuaki Shimizu (清水靖晃 born 9 August 1954; age 68) is a Japanese composer, saxophonist and producer. He is known for his interpretations of the music of J.S. Bach, in particular the "Cello Suites 1-6" re-arranged for and performed on tenor saxophone.
In 1983, he created the Yasuaki Shimizu & Saxophonettes project—initially a one-man band—which has since become the main focus of his recording activities. His first recording as the Saxophonettes was L'Automne à Pékin (1983). This was followed by Stardust (1985), Latin (1991) and Time and Again (1993); the latter revisiting the textures of L'Automne à Pékin with original compositions highlighting Shimizu’s orchestral arrangements and his tenor saxophone.

Rollins has been called "the greatest living improviser" and the "Saxophone Colossus".
Way Out West is a 1957 album by Sonny Rollins with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Shelly Manne. This CD was reissued in 1996.
