The Firehouse Five Plus Two was a Dixieland jazz band, popular in the 1950s, consisting of members of the Disney animation department. Walt Disney was approving of the band, letting them play at the company's Christmas parties, at Disneyland, and other social functions, on the single condition that they never fully leave their jobs at the studio.

20th ANNIVERSARY - GLOBE UNITY ORCHESTRA

Globe Unity was formed in autumn 1966 with a commission received by Alexander von Schlippenbach from the Berlin Jazz Festival. It had its debut at the Berliner Philharmonie on 3 November combining Gunter Hampel's quartet with Manfred Schoof' s quintet and Peter Brotzmann's trio.
This album is a live recording of a performance held in 1986 to commemorate GUO's 20th anniversary.

Alexander von Schlippenbach (born 7 April 1938; age 84) is a German jazz pianist and composer. He came to prominence in the 1960s playing free jazz in a trio with saxophonist Evan Parker and drummer Paul Lovens and as a member of the Globe Unity Orchestra.

BROWN RICE - DON CHERRY

Donald Eugene Cherry (November 18, 1936 - October 19, 1995; aged 58) was an American jazz trumpeter. Cherry had a long association with free jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman, which began in the late 1950s. He also performed alongside musicians such as John Coltrane, Charlie Haden, Sun Ra, Ed Blackwell, the New York Contemporary Five, and Albert Ayler. In the 1970s, Cherry became a pioneer in world fusion music, drawing on traditional African, Middle Eastern, and Hindustani music.
Brown Rice is an album by Don Cherry, recorded 1975. The album was first titled Brown Rice. EMI Records originally released the album in Italy under this title. Horizon Records reissued the album in 1977, titled Don Cherry. In 1989 A&M Records released Brown Rice on compact disc.

Le Sony'r Ra (born Herman Poole Blount, May 22, 1914 - May 30, 1993 ; aged 79), better known as Sun Ra, was an American jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, and poet known for his experimental music, "cosmic" philosophy, prolific output, and theatrical performances. For much of his career, Ra led "The Arkestra", an ensemble with an ever-changing name and flexible line-up.
Space Is the Place is a studio album by Sun Ra. It was originally released on the Blue Thumb label in 1973. In 1998, it was reissued by Impulse! Records.

梅津 和時(うめづ かずとき、1949年10月17日; 72歳)は、日本のミュージシャン、サックス、クラリネット奏者、作曲家。フリー・ジャズを中心に、ロックやクレズマー等、幅広い分野で活動。埼玉県在住。
宮城県仙台市出身。宮城県仙台第三高等学校、国立音楽大学卒。大学在学中にジャズの世界でプロ活動を始め、ニューヨークでフリー・ジャズに目覚める。帰国後は生活向上委員会で活動。1980年代は、RCサクセションのサポート・メンバーとしても有名になる。以後、どくとる梅津バンド(D.U.B.)、シャクシャイン、こまっちゃクレズマ、KIKI BAND等のリーダーバンドを率い、現在も活躍中。
