Stanley Getz (February 2, 1927 - June 6, 1991; aged 64) was an American jazz saxophonist. Getz performed in bebop and cool jazz groups. Influenced by Joao Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim, he popularized bossa nova in the United States with the hit single "The Girl from Ipanema" (1964).

Girl from Ipanema is a 1967 Brazilian film. The film is inspired by the song "Garota de Ipanema", by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, who were inspired by the model, businesswoman and presenter Helô Pinheiro, who used to go directly to Ipanema Beach, in Rio de Janeiro.
The film's soundtrack was released in vinyl record format and features songs, mostly by the duo Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, in addition to the participation of Chico Buarque.

Dom(Don) Salvador, (born 1938 in Rio Claro) stage name of Salvador da Silva Filho, is a Brazilian jazz/MPB pianist most notable for his Rio 65 Trio that featured the Brazilian jazz drummer Edison Machado and bassist Sergio Barrozo. He also did tours of Europe with musicians like Sylvia Telles. Over his long career, he has performed with musicians like Rubens Bassini, Jorge Ben, Elza Soares and Elis Regina, to name a few.

Antonio de Souza, better known as Milton Banana (Rio de Janeiro, April 23, 1935 - Rio de Janeiro, May 15, 1999) was a Brazilian drummer, one of the main bossa nova drummers.
In 1959, he participated in the recording of Chega de Saudade, considered the first bossa nova album, by João Gilberto. He also played other times with Tom and João, participating in the Carnegie Hall show in New York in 1962. He also participated in the historic album Getz Gilberto, in 1963, considered one of the main responsible for the internationalization of bossa nova. This album was recorded in 1962, New York.
