Jean-Luc Ponty (born September 29, 1942; age 81) is a French violinist. He is primarily active in the jazz/fusion field and often collaborates with American and British musicians. He is considered one of the most prominent and influential European jazz violinists, along with Stéphane Grappelli.
The Jean-Luc Ponty Experience with the George Duke Trio is a jazz album released in 1969 by Jean-Luc Ponty on World Pacific Jazz in the US, and is considered to be one of the earliest jazz fusion albums.

Monoswezi is a trans-national music collective composed of Hope Masike (voice, mbira, percussion), Calu Tsemane (voice, percussion), Hallvard Godal (saxophone, clarinet, harmonium), Putte Johander (bass), and Erik Nylander (drums, percussion). The band's name is a portmanteau from the first few letters of the members' respective nationalities: Mozambique, Norway, Sweden and Zimbabwe.

Ahmad Khatab Salim or Ahmad Kharab Salim (born Albert Atkinson) (July 28, 1922 – January 1, 2003; aged 80) was an American jazz composer, and arranger. Salim released three albums under his leadership on Savoy Records in the late 1950s and recorded a further album for Prestige Records in 1964.
Blues Suite is an album by A. K. Salim featuring Nat Adderley and Phil Woods recorded in 1958 for the Savoy label.

Stanley Clarke (born June 30, 1951; age 72) is an American bassist, composer and founding member of Return to Forever, one of the first jazz fusion bands. Clarke gave the bass guitar a prominence it lacked in jazz-related music.
Children of Forever is the debut album by Stanley Clarke. It was recorded in December 1972, and was released in 1973 by Polydor Records. On the album, Clarke is joined by vocalists Dee Dee Bridgewater and Andy Bey, flutist Arthur Webb, guitarist Pat Martino, keyboardist Chick Corea, and drummer Lenny White.

John Francis Anthony "Jaco" Pastorius III (December 1, 1951 – September 21, 1987; aged 35) was an American jazz bassist, composer and producer. He recorded albums as a solo artist and band leader and was a member of Weather Report from 1976 to 1981. He also collaborated with other artists, most notably Pat Metheny and Joni Mitchell.
The Birthday Concert is a live album by Jaco Pastorius released posthumously in 1995. It was recorded in Florida in 1981 to celebrate Pastorius' 30th birthday. Guests included his friends, such as Michael Brecker and the Peter Graves Orchestra.

ON THE CORNER - JOHN PATITUCCI

John Patitucci (born December 22, 1959; age 63) is an American jazz bassist and composer. From the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s he was a member of three Chick Corea groups: the Elektric Band, the Akoustic Band, and the quartet. As a leader he formed a trio with Joey Calderazzo and Peter Erskine, and a quartet with Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Tavaglione, and John Beasley. In June 2012 he started the Online Jazz Bass School. He was appointed artist in residence at Berklee College of Music.
On the Corner is second album by John Patitucci, released in 1989 on the GRP label.
