HEARTFUL SOUL IN NEW YORK - KIM YONJA

キム・ヨンジャ(金蓮子 Kim Yeon-ja、1959年1月25日 - 62歳)は、韓国の演歌歌手である。全羅南道光州市(現・光州広域市)出身。1974年韓国TBCテレビの「全国歌謡新人スターショー」で優勝し、歌手デビュー。1977年には「女の一生」で日本デビュー。1981年に「歌の花束」が韓国のレコード史上最大の360万枚の売上を記録。1989年にNHK紅白歌合戦に「朝の国から」で初出場。その後、「川の流れのように」、「イムジン河」で3回出場している。
本作は、大木トオルのプロデュースで1999年12月~2000年1月、ニューヨークで録音された。バックバンドはコーネル・デュプリー(g)など「STUFF」が参加している。

越路 吹雪(こしじ ふぶき、1924年(大正13年)2月18日 - 1980年(昭和55年)11月7日;56歳没)は、日本のシャンソン歌手、舞台女優。元宝塚歌劇団トップスター。 愛称は「コーちゃん」。エディット・ピアフが唄った「愛の賛歌」をカヴァーして大ヒットした。
『拝啓、越路吹雪様。』は、フレンチ狂家元・永瀧達治氏のプロデュースによるトリビュート・アルバムである。1996年リリース。

Taj Mahal is the debut album by Taj Mahal. Recorded in 1967 with backing musicians that included guitarists Jesse Ed Davis and Ry Cooder, it was released by Columbia Records in 1968.

Eddie Palmieri (born December 15, 1936; age 85) is an American Grammy Award-winning pianist, bandleader, musician, and composer of Puerto Rican ancestry. He is the founder of the bands La Perfecta, La Perfecta II, and Harlem River Drive.
Jimmy Norman (August 12, 1937 - November 8, 2011; aged 74) was an American rhythm and blues and jazz musician and a songwriter. In 1969 he became involved with doo-wop band The Coasters, first as a producer and then as a touring member. During his time with the Coasters, Norman teamed up with Eddie Palmieri as lead vocalist in the group Harlem River Drive, which released a self-titled album in 1971.
