This 1959 work was a great combo consisting of a quintet consisting of Walter Perkins and Bob Cranshaw's MJT (Modern Jazz Two). It features a refreshing hard bop with a positive mood, and the two horns of Willie Thomas and the up-and-coming Frank Strozier shine throughout the album.

植松孝夫(Takao Uematsu)1947年8月31日 - 2015年8月23日 神奈川県横浜市生れ 日本のジャズ・サックス奏者。植松孝夫の演奏スタイルは、ハード・バップやモダン・ジャズの影響を受けつつ、フュージョンやファンクの要素も取り入れている。彼のサックス演奏は、力強くエネルギッシュであり、多くのファンに支持されている。
「COME FROM WITH」は、浅川マキのプロデュースによるゼロ・アワー・シリーズの第三弾としてリリースされた。1991年12月録音。

SUPERSAX PLAYS BIRD - SUPERSAX

Supersax was an American jazz group, created in 1972 by saxophonist Med Flory and bassist Buddy Clark as a tribute to saxophonist Charlie Parker. The group's music consisted of harmonized arrangements of Parker's improvisations played by a saxophone section (two altos, two tenors, and a baritone), rhythm section (bass, piano, drums), and a brass instrument (trombone or trumpet).
Supersax Plays Bird is debut album by Supersax, recorded in 1973 and released on the Capitol label.

Birds and Ballads is a jazz album recorded under the leadership of Johnny Griffin, released in 1978.
Players include Art Pepper, John Klemmer, Joe Farrell, Joe Henderson, Harold Land, and the rhythm section of Stanley Cowell, Roy Haynes, Cecil McBee and John Heard.
Four of the album's eight songs are compositions by Charlie Parker, also known as "Bird", while the remaining four are ballads.

He had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "'Round Midnight", "Blue Monk", "Straight, No Chaser", "Ruby, My Dear", "In Walked Bud", and "Well, You Needn't".
The Unique is a 1956 album by Thelonious Monk. It was his second for Riverside Records and like his Riverside debut, is made up of standards.
