Anthony Tillmon Williams (December 12, 1945 - February 23, 1997; aged 51) was an American jazz drummer. Williams first gained fame in the band of trumpeter Miles Davis and pioneered jazz fusion. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1986.
Believe It is the first album by The New Tony Williams Lifetime, released in 1975 on Columbia Records. The New Lifetime was a jazz fusion band formed by the drummer Tony Williams with Allan Holdsworth on guitar, Alan Pasqua on keyboards and Tony Newton on bass.

ELVIN! - ELVIN JONES & COMPANY

Elvin Ray Jones (September 9, 1927 - May 18, 2004; aged 76) was an American jazz drummer of the post-bop era. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949 and subsequently played in a Detroit house band led by Billy Mitchell. He moved to New York City in 1955 and worked as a drummer for John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Teddy Charles, Bud Powell and Miles Davis. From 1960 to 1966, he was a member of the John Coltrane quartet (along with Jimmy Garrison on bass and McCoy Tyner on piano), a celebrated recording phase, appearing on such albums as My Favorite Things, A Love Supreme, Ascension, and Live at Birdland.
Elvin! is a jazz album by Elvin Jones recorded in 1961 and 1962 and released on the Riverside label. It features Jones playing in a group with his brothers, trumpeter Thad (here playing cornet) and pianist Hank, along with tenor saxophonist Frank Foster, flautist Frank Wess and bassist Art Davis.

Roy Owen Haynes (born March 13, 1925; age 97) is an American jazz drummer. He is among the most recorded drummers in jazz. In a career lasting over 75 years he has played swing, bebop, jazz fusion, avant-garde jazz and is considered a father of modern jazz drumming. "Snap Crackle" was a nickname given to him in the 1950s. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1999.

He worked with many famous jazz musicians, including Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Abbey Lincoln, Dinah Washington, Charles Mingus, Billy Eckstine, Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins, Eric Dolphy, and Booker Little.
Award-Winning Drummer (also released as Max Roach) is an album by Max Roach featuring a session recorded in 1958 and released on the Time label.

Stephen Paul Motian (March 25, 1931 – November 22, 2011; aged 80) was an American jazz drummer, percussionist, and composer. Motian played an important role in freeing jazz drummers from strict time-keeping duties.
He first came to prominence in the late 1950s in the piano trio of Bill Evans, and later was a regular in pianist Keith Jarrett's band for about a decade (c. 1967–1976).
Misterioso is an album by Paul Motian, his ninth album overall and third on the Italian Soul Note label. It was released in 1987 and features performances by Motian’s quintet with guitarist Bill Frisell, tenor saxophonists Joe Lovano and Jim Pepper, and bassist Ed Schuller.

村上 “ポンタ” 秀一(むらかみ ぽんた しゅういち、1951年1月1日 - 2021年3月9日 70歳没)は、日本のドラム奏者。兵庫県西宮市出身。愛称はポンタさん。別名、ポンタ村上。ジャズ、ロック、J-POP、歌謡曲などジャンルを問わず、国内外でセッションドラマー/スタジオ・ミュージシャンとして活動。
1998年発表の活動25周年記念アルバム『Welcome To My Life』と、2003年発表の活動30周年記念アルバム『MY PLEASURE』には、それぞれ日本を代表するアーティストがゲストとして多数参加しており、セッションドラマーとしての幅の広さを窺わせる。レコーディング数は1万4000曲を越え、日本を代表するドラム奏者である。
