George Allen Russell (June 23, 1923 - July 27, 2009; aged 86) was an American jazz pianist, composer, arranger and theorist. He is considered one of the first jazz musicians to contribute to general music theory with a theory of harmony based on jazz rather than European music, in his book Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization (1953).
Live in an American Time Spiral is a live album by George Russell released on the Italian Soul Note label in 1983, featuring performances by Russell with his New York Band recorded in 1982.

Joseph Arthurlin Harriott (15 July 1928 – 2 January 1973; aged 44) was a Jamaican jazz musician and composer, whose principal instrument was the alto saxophone. During the late 1960s he and violinist John Mayer developed Indo-Jazz Fusion - an early attempt at building on music from diverse traditions. This involved a "double quintet" of five Indian and five jazz musicians playing together on a number of compositions largely conceived by Mayer.
Indo-Jazz Fusions I & II is an album by "double quintet" which was released in 1967 & 1968.

COMING HOME JAMAICA - ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO

The Art Ensemble of Chicago is an avant-garde jazz group that grew out of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) in the late 1960s. The ensemble integrates many jazz styles and plays many instruments, including "little instruments": bells, bicycle horns, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and various forms of percussion. The musicians would wear costumes and face paint while performing.
Coming Home Jamaica is a 1998 album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago originally released on the Atlantic label and reissued in 2002 on the Dreyfus label.

Anthony Braxton (born June 4, 1945; age 77) is an African-American experimental composer, improviser, saxophonist, and multi-instrumentalist. Braxton grew up on Chicago’s South Side and was a key early member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. He won acclaim for his 1969 recording For Alto, the first full-length album of solo saxophone music.
Seven Standards (1985), Vols. 1 & 2 is a two volume set by Anthony Braxton. It was recorded January 30 – 31, 1985. Personnel is Anthony Braxton - saxophones, Rufus Reid - bass, Victor Lewis - drums and Hank Jones - piano.
