Sadao Watanabe (渡辺貞夫 February 1, 1933; age 89) is a Japanese jazz musician who plays alto saxophone, sopranino saxophone, and flute. He is known for his bossa nova recordings, although his work encompasses many styles, with collaborations from musicians all over the world.
Pastoral is an album by Sadao Watanabe recorded at Akasaka Toshi Center Hall, June 24 & July 8, 1969.

Eric Kloss (born April 3, 1949; age 73) is an American jazz saxophonist. Kloss was born blind in Greenville, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, and attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind, which was run by his father. When he was 10, he began to play the saxophone, and two years later he was playing in night clubs with professional musicians such as Bobby Negri, Charles Bell, and Sonny Stitt.
To Hear Is to See! is an album by Eric Kloss which was recorded in 1969 and released on the Prestige label.

SUMMIT MEETING AT BIRDLAND - CHARLIE PARKER

Charles "Charlie" Parker Jr. (August 29, 1920 - March 12, 1955; aged 34), nicknamed "Bird" and "Yardbird", was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Parker was a highly influential soloist and leading figure in the development of bebop, a form of jazz characterized by fast tempos, virtuosic technique, and advanced harmonies. Parker was a blazingly fast virtuoso and introduced revolutionary harmonic ideas into jazz, including rapid passing chords, new variants of altered chords, and chord substitutions. Primarily a player of the alto saxophone, Bird's tone ranged from clean and penetrating to sweet and somber.
Summit Meeting at Birdland is a live album by Charlie Parker. It was recorded in 1951 and 1953 at the Birdland.

Playboys is a 1956 jazz album featuring Chet Baker and Art Pepper. The album was the third collaboration between Pepper and Baker, following The Route and Chet Baker Big Band. All three albums were recorded in 1956.

Goin' Home is a duet album by Art Pepper and George Cables recorded in 1982 and released on the Galaxy label. This album was recorded a month before Art Pepper died.

CARIBÉ - THE LATIN JAZZ QUINTET + ERIC DOLPHY

Eric Allan Dolphy Jr. (June 20, 1928 - June 29, 1964) was an American jazz alto saxophonist, bass clarinetist and flutist. On a few occasions, he also played the clarinet and piccolo. Dolphy was one of several multi-instrumentalists to gain prominence around the time that he was active. His use of the bass clarinet helped to establish the instrument within jazz. Dolphy extended the vocabulary and boundaries of the alto saxophone, and was among the earliest significant jazz flute soloists.
Caribé is an album by the Latin Jazz Quintet with Eric Dolphy that was recorded in 1960 and released on the New Jazz label in February 1961.

JULIAN "CANNONBALL" ADDERLEY and Strings

Julian Edwin "Cannonball" Adderley (September 15, 1928 - August 8, 1975; aged 46) was an American jazz alto saxophonist of the hard bop era of the 1950s and 1960s. Adderley is perhaps best remembered for the 1966 soul jazz single "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy", which was written for him by his keyboardist Joe Zawinul and became a major crossover hit on the pop charts. Adderley worked with Miles Davis, first as a member of the Davis sextet, appearing on the seminal records Milestones (1958) and Kind of Blue (1959), and then on his own 1958 album Somethin' Else. He was the elder brother of jazz trumpeter Nat Adderley, who was a longtime member of his band.
Julian Cannonball Adderley and Strings is the third album by Cannonball Adderley, and his second released on the EmArcy label, and features Adderley with an orchestra directed by Richard Hayman.

MOTION - LEE KONITZ

Leon Konitz (October 13, 1927 - April 15, 2020; aged 92) was an American composer and alto saxophonist.
He performed successfully in a wide range of jazz styles, including bebop, cool jazz, and avant-garde jazz. Konitz's association with the cool jazz movement of the 1940s and 1950s includes participation in Miles Davis's Birth of the Cool sessions and his work with pianist Lennie Tristano.
Motion is an album by Lee Konitz, recorded in 1961 for Verve Records. It features drummer Elvin Jones and bassist Sonny Dallas. It is regarded by many as Konitz's finest album. The 1990 CD issue expanded the number of tracks from five to eight.
