SPEAKING OF JOBIM - EDDIE HIGGINS

Edward Haydn Higgins (February 21, 1932 - August 31, 2009; aged 77) was an American jazz pianist, composer, and orchestrator.
Eddie Higgins's delicate tone and conception were often compared to those of Bill Evans, one of the most influential and successful jazz pianists. He mostly played bop and mainstream jazz music throughout his career. His releases on the Japanese Venus label earned him number one in jazz sales on more than one album.
Speaking of Jobim is an album by Eddie Higgins (piano) with Jay Leonhart (bass) , Terry Clarke (drums). Recorded at East Side Studios, New York, New York on October 5 & 6, 1998 and released on the Sunnyside label.

INTRODUCING - CARL PERKINS

Carl Perkins (August 16, 1928 - March 17, 1958; aged 29) was an American jazz pianist.
He is best remembered for his performances with the Curtis Counce Quintet, which also featured Harold Land, Jack Sheldon and drummer Frank Butler. He also performed with Tiny Bradshaw, Big Jay McNeely in 1948-49, and played dates with Miles Davis in 1950. He died of a drug overdose at age 29, in Los Angeles, California. He recorded one album, Introducing Carl Perkins, and a short series of singles under his own name.

Bishop was influenced at an early stage by Bud Powell. Later, Bishop was "known for holding back on the beat, a device that added tension to the music."
Speak Low is the debut album led by Walter Bishop Jr. which was recorded in 1961 and originally released on the Jazztime label.

He is known for his surprising musical twists, bright rhythmic sense, and intense dramatic musical climaxes.

Hugh Lawson (March 12, 1935 - March 11, 1997; aged 61), was an American jazz pianist from Detroit who worked with Yusef Lateef for more than 10 years.
Inspired by Bud Powell, Hampton Hawes and Bill Evans, Lawson first gained recognition for his work with Lateef from 1957 onwards. In 1972, he performed with "The Piano Choir" (Strata-East), a group with seven pianists including Stanley Cowell and Harold Mabern.
Casablanca is an album by Hugh Lawson Trio (Hugh Lawson; piano, Cecil McBee; bass, Marvin "Smitty" Smith; drums) recorded in 1989 for the Somethin'else label.

Michel Sardaby (born 4 September 1935; age 86) is a French jazz pianist. Born in Fort-de-France, Martinique, he moved to Paris.
Sardaby's first album Five Cat`s Blues was recorded in October 1967 in Paris with 5 compositions created by the pianist. In 1970, he led a trio comprising Percy Heath and Connie Kay for his second album, Night Cap. A 1972 New York recording(This album) has him leading a line-up comprising Richard Davis, Billy Cobham and Ray Barretto (Sound Hills Records 1997).

Eugen Cicero, born Eugen Ciceu (27 June 1940 - 5 December 1997; aged 57), nicknamed "Mister Golden Hands", was a Romanian-German jazz pianist who performed in the mixed classical-swing style.
Although he graduated from the National Conservatory in Bucharest, he abandoned a career as a conventional concert pianist and established his style between classical and jazz piano, introducing swing harmonies into baroque, classical and romantic compositions, often as spontaneous improvisations.
Jazz Bach is an album by Eugen Cicero trio and Wilhelm Krumbach recorded in Amsterdam in March 5-7 1985.

Romano Bruno Mussolini (26 September 1927 - 3 February 2006; aged 78) was an Italian jazz pianist, painter and film producer. He was the fourth child and youngest son of Benito Mussolini, who was the fascist dictator of Italy from 1925 until 1943.
By the mid-1950s, he had formed a trio. Mussolini released a self-titled record (This album) through RCA Records in 1956.
