Harold Galper (born April 18, 1938 ; age 83) is an American jazz pianist, composer, arranger, bandleader, educator, and writer.
He worked with Chet Baker and Stan Getz and accompanied vocalists Joe Williams, Anita O'Day, and Chris Connor. Between 1973 and 1975, Galper played in the Cannonball Adderley Quintet replacing George Duke. For 10 years (1980-1990) he was a member of Phil Woods's quintet.
The Guerilla Band is an album by Hal Galper released on the Mainstream label in 1971.

Dorothy Jeanne Thompson (August 6, 1932 - April 13, 1986 ; aged 53), better known as Dorothy Ashby, was an American jazz harpist and composer. Ashby established the harp as an improvising jazz instrument, beyond earlier use as a novelty or background orchestral instrument, proving the harp could play bebop as adeptly as the instruments commonly associated with jazz, such as the saxophone or piano.
Dorothy's Harp is a studio album by Dorothy Ashby released in 1969 via the Cadet label.

Michael Walter White (24 May 1930 - 6 December 2016 ; aged 86) was an American jazz violinist.
White was among the first to play the violin in avant-garde jazz, and in the late 1960s became one of the first jazz violinists to play jazz rock fusion (with his band The Fourth Way). During his career, he played with musicians such as Sun Ra, Prince Lasha, McCoy Tyner, Eric Dolphy, Wes Montgomery, Kenny Dorham, Joe Henderson, John Lee Hooker, and Richard Davis.
Spirit Dance is the debut album by Michael White featuring performances recorded in 1971 and released on the Impulse! label.

William James "Count" Basie (August 21, 1904 - April 26, 1984) was an American jazz pianist, organist, bandleader, and composer. In 1935, he formed the Count Basie Orchestra, and in 1936 took them to Chicago for a long engagement and their first recording. He led the group for almost 50 years, creating innovations like the use of two "split" tenor saxophones, emphasizing the rhythm section, riffing with a big band, using arrangers to broaden their sound, and others.

Vernice "Bunky" Green (born April 23, 1935 ; age 86) is an American jazz alto saxophonist and educator.
His first break came when he was hired in New York City by Charles Mingus as a replacement for Jackie McLean in the 1950s. Green recorded several albums during the 1960s, including Step High (featuring Wynton Kelly and Jimmy Cobb), Playing for Keeps, and Soul in the Night (which paired Green with Sonny Stitt).
The Latinization of Bunky Green is an album by Bunky Green recorded in Chicago and released by the Cadet label in 1967.
