This recording captures a live performance by Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis and Sonny Stitt held at the famous New York jazz club, Birdland, in 1954.
Known as a masterpiece of a "sax battle" (tenor battle), in which two tenor saxophonists engage in fierce battles with each other.
