Edward Lee Morgan (July 10, 1938 – February 19, 1972; aged 33) was an American jazz trumpeter and composer. One of the key hard bop musicians of the 1960s and a cornerstone of the Blue Note label.
Lee Morgan's album The Procrastinator is a Blue Note masterpiece recorded in 1967 but not released until 1978, following his untimely death in 1972.
A standout from Morgan's prolific late-60s period. It spans a wide range of hard bop and post-bop, from the catchy "Party Time" to more introspective, modal tracks reflecting Wayne Shorter's influence.　♭
